Ms Simon is a French and Yearbook teacher at Bellaire and this year was honored by the Texas Exes with their Outstanding Teacher of the Year Award. She will discuss her career at Bellaire and some of the special programs that makes the school unique.

Blaze CarabelloJoin us to hear Blaze Carabello, Chief of Staff of Houston's Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center, speak about the work of the Houston VA and other issues that impact our returning men and women in uniform.

Mr. Carabello received his medical degree from Temple University in 1973 and completed his internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship at Harvard Medical School in 1978.

Carabello is the author of more than 200 peer-reviewed and invited publications and the recipient of numerous awards for excellence in teaching. Most recently, he received the 2003 Alumnus of the Year Award from Temple University.

Mr. Carabello is currently a resident of Bellaire.

Sally will be bringing a presentation to help us better appreciate one of Houston's greatest and most under appreciated assets.

Join us to hear Beth Alberts, Director of the Houston Regional Amber Plan, talk about what this organization does about the problems with missing children in Houston.

Ms. Alberts has been the CEO of the Texas Center for the Missing and a non-profit manager and fundraiser for 27 years - the last 20 in Houston. Ms. Alberts serves as the Secretary of the Board of AMECO, Inc., an international consortium of missing children's organizations, is a Board Member of Harris County Department of Education's Safe and Secure Schools and sits on the Children's Assessment Center Partnership Council.
